‘Cavolo Nero’ is an old and much loved variety of Kale with a long tradition in Italian cuisine.
It produces long dark-green savoyed leaves on a beautiful upright form, somewhat resembling a mini palm tree.
Delicious in a range of dishes, its eye-catching appearance makes it very attractive in any garden bed. It enjoys cooler temperatures and is extremely cold hardy, with flavour improving after a hard frost.
Can be productive for 6 months or longer by picking the lower leaves and enjoying as needed.
