‘Self Blanching’ is a rare Cauliflower variety known for its bright white curds and delicious flavour.
This early maturing cauliflower has large green leaves that offer very good protection from the sun and tend to curl around the heads so there is no need to tie them up. A time and work saving variety that will blanch itself when grown in cool conditions.
It’s a classic snowball type producing crisp, tender white heads that are excellent for eating fresh or for enjoying in cooked meals. Popular for its rapid growth and long harvests.
Developed in the 1970s by Dr. Shigemi Honma at Michigan State University.
