Origin: I'm native to tropical areas of the world.
Light: Provide bright, indirect light. I thrive in filtered sunlight but can tolerate some direct morning or late afternoon sun. Avoid harsh, direct midday sun which can scorch my leaves.
Temperature: Keep me warm, ideally between 65°F to 75°F. I'm sensitive to cold temperatures and drafts, so protect me from chilly conditions.
Humidity: I appreciate moderate humidity levels. Mist my leaves occasionally or place me near a humidifier to maintain humidity, especially indoors during dry seasons.
Watering: Allow my soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Water me thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
Soil: Plant me in a well-draining, fertile potting mix.
Fertilization: Feed me with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter when growth slows.
Pruning: Prune me to remove any yellowing or damaged leaves and to maintain my shape. Regular pruning can also help control my size and encourage bushier growth.
Propagation: I can be propagated from stem cuttings. Take a healthy cutting with a few leaves, place it in water or moist potting mix, and roots will develop within a few weeks.
Pests/Diseases: Watch out for pests like aphids, spider mites, and scale. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases.
