Echinopsis are a large genus of cacti native to South America and commonly known as hedgehog cactus, sea-urchin cactus or Easter lily cactus.

There’s hundreds of different variants with very different appearances, but what they have in common is their very large showy flowers.

They love a sunny spot and very little water. Never let them sit in water.

Light: Lots of bright, direct sunlight.

Temperature: Keep me warm, between 70°F to 90°F during the day.

Watering: Let my soil dry completely between waterings.

Soil: Well-draining, sandy soil or cactus mix.

Fertilization: Light feeding in spring and summer with diluted cactus fertilizer.

Propagation: Stem cuttings in well-draining soil.

Pests/Diseases: Watch for pests like mealybugs and spider mites.
