Origin: Native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, known for my lush foliage and easy-care nature.
Light: I thrive in bright, indirect light. Place me in a location with filtered sunlight or partial shade, away from direct sunlight which can scorch my leaves.
Temperature: Keep me in a warm environment, and protect me from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.
Watering: Allow my soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Water me thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, but avoid overwatering which can lead to root rot.
Soil: Plant me in well-draining, peat-based potting mix.
Fertilization: Feed me with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter when growth slows.
Propagation: I can be propagated from stem cuttings. Take a healthy cutting with a few leaves and nodes, and place it in water or moist potting mix until roots develop.
Pests/Diseases: I'm generally resistant to pests and diseases, but watch out for common houseplant pests like spider mites and mealybugs. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap.
