A variety of Taro grown for its spectacular foliage

A tuberous, frost-tender perennial with long-stalked, thick and glossy, heart-shaped, fresh green leaves with red veins underneath. The leaves point downwards, and make a bold statement on their own, or a lush backdrop when planted with other tropicals.

Suitable for indoors or outdoors

Likes sun to part-shade, and protection from the wind. Plant in rich, moist soil. Taro is happy to be planted in up to 15cm of standing water. But if that doesn’t suit you- just water regularly, and fertilise over spring-summer to encourage growth. These bad boys can get to 90cm H x 90cm W.
