Origin: I'm native to the coastal mountains of Brazil.
Light: Provide bright, indirect light. I thrive in filtered sunlight or partial shade, but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch my leaves.
Temperature: I'm sensitive to extreme temperatures, so protect me from drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Watering: Keep my soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water me when the top inch of soil feels dry, and ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
Fertilization: Feed me with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Pruning: Prune me to remove any dead or damaged stems and to maintain my shape. Pinching back stems after flowering can encourage bushier growth and more blooms.
Propagation: I can be propagated from stem cuttings. Take a healthy cutting with a few segments, allow it to callus for a day or two, then plant it in moist soil. Roots will develop within a few weeks.
Pests/Diseases: Watch out for pests like aphids, spider mites, and mealybugs. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal diseases.
