Origin: Native to South Africa, known for my striking, zebra-like patterns.
Light: Provide bright, indirect light. I thrive in filtered sunlight and can tolerate some direct morning or late afternoon sun, but avoid harsh midday sun to prevent leaf burn.
Watering: Allow my soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water me thoroughly, but infrequently, ensuring the soil is dry before the next watering.
Soil: Plant me in well-draining, gritty soil. A succulent or cactus mix with added sand or perlite works well to provide excellent drainage.
Fertilization: Feed me with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop feeding during fall and winter when growth slows.
Propagation: I can be propagated from offsets. Carefully remove the offsets that appear at the base and plant them in well-draining soil. Allow the offsets to dry for a day or two before planting to prevent rot.
Pests/Diseases: I'm relatively pest and disease-resistant, but watch out for pests like mealybugs and spider mites. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
